This is your opportunity to get involved in Guernsey’s first ever Island-wide election, and to be a part of history in the making!
Because of the move to Island-wide voting more people are needed than in previous years. The election team is looking to recruit volunteers now in order to offer training in time for the October election.
Any opportunities to get involved in volunteering for the election will be published below.
Polling Station Volunteer

Time Commitment | 4 hours over polling days 3, 4, 6 and 7 October and/or count days 8 October onwards. |
Hours of Work | Polling stations are open from 8am-8pm. Shifts are two hours each and volunteers will be required to complete a minimum of two shifts over the polling period. |
Place of Work | Volunteers will be placed at polling stations in the following parishes; St Peter Port, Castel, St Saviours and St Sampson. |
Role Specification | Polling Station Volunteers are appointed to provide general assistance to voters at polling stations. The role entails;

Person Specification | Experience No specific experience is necessary, but volunteers will need a basic understanding of the election. Previous experience in a polling station setting is desirable but not essential. Personal attributes

Training | The Election 2020 Office will provide a two hour training session for all volunteers new to the polling station role. Training will be held in September. |
Other Criteria | Anyone over the age of 16 can apply. All interested applicants will be asked to complete an application form. |
