Information for Candidates
When: Sunday 20th September, 10.00am – 4.00pm
Where: Sir John Loveridge Hall, Beau Sejour Leisure Centre
Why: This is your opportunity to meet voters, engage with them in person, discuss their concerns and answer questions throughout the day.
How: Each candidate will be given their own allocated table and chairs in the main hall. Candidates will be arranged alphabetically, with political parties grouped together, also alphabetically within the party, and members of the public will be able to walk through the room at their leisure and speak to candidates. The set up will be relatively informal as voters will be encouraged to ‘pop in’ any time between 10am – 4pm.

FAQs
What will I be supplied with?
You will be supplied with a small table and chairs.
Can I bring my own materials and when do I set up?
You are welcome to bring your own flyers, manifestos, printed materials, decorations and anything else that will fit within your own allocated space. However, there will be no power outlets available at your table but candidates are welcome to bring their own portable power banks if they require a charging point for any devices/laptops etc. You will be able to bring your materials and get yourself set up at Beau Sejour on Saturday 19th September. A time for doing this will be confirmed to you via email beforehand. Please do not bring helium balloons.
How will I know which table is mine?
Each table will be allocated with its own number which will be on display, and you will be given this number in advance of the event so when you come in to set up you will need to find your table or a staff member will be able to point you in the right direction.
What time will I need to be at Beau Sejour on Sunday 20th September?
As you will have set up/identified your space the day before, we recommend that you arrive by 9.30am for a 10.00am start. The event will finish at 4.00pm so we ask that you take your materials with you upon the closing of this event. We recommend that you park at Amherst Primary School or in the surrounding areas to ensure sufficient parking for attendees throughout the day.
Is there anything else I need to be prepared for?
To minimise potential queues, you might want to consider having some literature available for voters to take away and read while they are waiting for the opportunity to speak to you. It is also worth being mindful of the time that you spend with each voter to ensure that as many people as possible can get the most out of this event.
Who do I contact if I have any specific questions about the requirements for this event?
Please email stephanie.gordon@gov.gg if you have event related queries that have not been addressed above.
